Cello Concerto with Clark Pang

“When I play, I feel like I’m on fire.”

14 year-old cellist, Clark Pang, made his Carnegie Hall debut at the age of ten as the youngest performer for From the Top's premiere television episode. He returns to Carnegie Hall for a second time June 12 as winner of the American Fine Arts Festival National Competition performing Barber’s Cello Sonata, commemorating the composer’s centennial and will perform again in New York this fall as a top prizewinner in the Alexander & Buono International Competition. He is winner of national & international competitions, has appeared on media shows such as PBS, NPR, CNBC World TV, The Martha Stewart Show, in addition to performing at the Legion of Honor, Herbst Theater, Napa's Festival del Sole, Mondavi Center, and Merrill Auditorium (Maine). Clark is on the artist roster of Rising Stars of California and performed for YoYo Ma’s Masterclass. As soloist, he has performed with Oakland East Bay Symphony, California Symphony, Pacific Chamber Symphony, and Fremont Symphony (twice), to acclaim, premiering his own cadenza. As co-principal cellist of Oakland Youth Orchestra, Clark will solo with them on their Costa Rica tour this summer. He also has a passion for Latin, poetry, and improvisation. Clark is considered a young musical philanthropist. Through his performances, he has helped raise funds for arts organizations and humanitarian efforts. At twelve, he founded Music Prisontations, bringing hope to inmates through music.
